I was always unsatisfied with my name's only meaning being that derived from Anastasia so I began searching a little bit and found something that I think is pretty damn cool. The greek name Stacy (or i guess any spelling of it) means resurrection. having always been fascinated by the phoenix and notions of reincarnation i was excited to find that out--great meaning if you ask me.
anybody heard any other interesting meanings for our name?

Re: meanings of our name
Thu, February 12, 2004 - 1:50 PM"Anastacia" means "of the resurrection" and from the reading I've done on it was frequently given to girls born around Easter. "Anastacia" is a Greek name, as it can be spelled with all Greek letters. I've also come across "Eustacia", which is Latin in orgin (male: Eustace), but that's not a very common name anymore. It is the name of a martyred saint. I have though come across the surname "STACEY" in England more than once. That's an interesting sidebar! -

Re: meanings of our name
Sun, February 15, 2004 - 6:31 AMComing from an Irish family, it's a bit more common for a male to have it...but I've found that it has some origin in Viking days and means 'dependable/reliable'....
